“why do you do the things that you do? do you know why you do the things that you do?”
Do you ever feel like you want to do something new with your life, you feel super excited & motivated, you get everything in order to do so and yet, you never seem to quite get there and actually do it?!
Yeah, well me too.
For the longest time, I was someone with a heap of great ideas and dreams, yet I lacked the motivation to actually do something about them. Take this blog for instance – I wanted to do it for the last couple of years, never had the balls for it, but I could never really work out WHY I didn’t have the balls… if that makes sense.
It wasn’t until I listened to a Snap Chat rant by one of my FAV influencers – Christal Fuentes aka The Ladies Coach, that shit got “Christal clear”…. sorry not sorry about that pun ;). Christal basically said to ask yourself WHY. WHY do you want it? WHY do you want to do it? etc etc. I feel as though any situation you are feeling stuck in or are not sure which way to run, this is the perfect thing to do that will help.
For myself, I made two lists – one was “WHY I want to” create a blog, and the other was “WHAT is holding me back?” – and asked myself, over and over again until I got to my truth. I quickly discovered that “WHAT was holding me back” was that I was doubting myself because I cared too much what other people thought. Did thinking that way serve me positively? Did the people I was thinking of really give two shits what I was doing? The answers are NO. All of my “WHY I want to” reasons were so much more important to me, so it was time to find a solution for the problem I had created in my head.
Sometimes we really have no clue what it is that is holding us back, and its usually a lot deeper then what we think or are even aware of, which is why asking WHY over and over, is so powerful. It opens us up to ourselves and allows us to fix problems that we didn’t even know existed! Just be honest with yourself, it may take a little time but you will get to your truth and begin to work on being better.
